These were taken on Kidian’s camera. Many thanks to him for making me a folder of them on my computer before he went back to Japan. Since he’s going to be deployed all over for the next year, I uploaded them for him. They’re available on my MySpace:

You gotta be logged in to see them, I believe.

Enjoy!

Once you’ve seen the original trailer for his upcoming movie, Be Kind Rewind, then watch this remake he created himself.

Hip hop hooray, hoes! ./shutdown season 1 has hit 1 million views! ($%()$#QVU()#$&^.

Our spotlight on the front of Stage6 hasincreased our numbers significantly. Thanks, Stage6! So far our most
popular videos are episode 7: DDR Hero part 4 at over 500,000 and episode 3: Drastic Measures part 1 at 250,000 views.

Don’t forget to watch the first half of the season finale. Part 2, the conclusion premieres in just a few days. David is hard at work at the editing bench churning that out for y’all.

Thanks for watching the show and contributing to our growing success!

Was checking out the MySpace page for Lala (of Tiki Bar TV fame) and it appears she has a new pinup calendar for sale online. I love the style of it (seems to be a mix of real photography and touch-up to look like pinup art). I am so tempted to get this.

Lala pinup calendar

I met Lala at CES last year when I directed a special for Tiki Bar TV in addition to live episodes with other podcasters like Geek Entertainment TV, JETSET and Pure Pwnage. I hope she is doing well. I saw ads for some show on CBC that she is hosting so it seems she’s doing well. Yay for Lala. She’s a sweetheart.

Judith Weston’s workshop was truly transformative as so many said it would be. I am genuinely inspired and excited about beginning to apply these principles of acting into my future directing. As you can see from my Twitters, her 3-day class gave me more insight and access to an emotional center that 4 years at a performing arts school couldn’t help me with. I’ve already scheduled individual meetings with the main cast of ./shutdown to discuss some of these things with them and delve into some areas that I think will really help later on the set.

I’m also grateful for the chance to meet and work with the other students in the class. Most were directors and a couple were producers and/or writers. They were all wonderful people. I’m looking forward to getting an email with a class picture someone took so I can post it up on here. I’ve convinced David to sign up for the class I just took, Acting for Directors and I just sent an email off to reserve a space in her next Script Analysis and Rehearsal Techniques course which isn’t until May. She only does two per year and that one is already close to full!

In other news, I’m looking forward to a ./shutdown paintball game on Saturday and editing the conclusion to the DDR Hero episodes. After that, I will be done editing ./shutdown for awhile. David will be in post production on the season finale during the second half of January while I am having the actor meetings. I’ll probably also edit another Film Fatale video blog and get back to writing songs for a musical ./shutdown episode you’ll see in season 2.

Things are pretty slow at work right now, so in my spare time I’ve been playing with Color trying to get to know the program. I also better start thinking about a fun concept for the next quarterly videos. The CEO told me he’d really like to do something creative that alot of people could get involved with. That is all!

Nothing says “success” like a random ass forum thread with a giant picture of you embedded and quoted over and over again.

Apparently Jonathan London (whom I’ve worked with at CES and Comic-Con) told Ben Cote at Stage6, who then forwarded it to me. O_o

Hi All,

Happy holidays and all that politically correct bull honkey. Check out our lovely ./shutdown holiday special featuring Ben Peterson (Zedd). Fun for the whole family!

DDR Hero continues next week! Don’t miss the two-part season finale beginning mid-January.
