So just this morning I was thinking of posting a new blog. I was going to complain about all the new annoyances in my life thanks to this car accident. How I have to set aside time for treatment and how my neck starts to really hurt by the end of school. How I have to watch what I eat because I fear I’m getting fat since the Dr. forbade me to go to the gym or martial arts. I wasn’t going to mention that still-nagging memory in the back of my head that my former friend tried to hide her accident from her insurance company, even though I was injured.

Anyway, I was full of complaints.

Then Aly called me tonight after class and told me Craig, my coworker at Sea World, died today. He was hit by a car while riding his bicycle to work.

Really puts things into fucking perspective. The universe is messed up sometimes… Is it random why I got to live, yet he died? I don’t know.

See original post and comments.

So thanks for your kind words. I made the entries about the accident private though. I don’t feel like leaving it all out there for the world to see the details of my immense sorrow these past couple of days. I’ll just summarize an update.

So my friend ignored all my calls for three days in regards to her insurance so it’s safe to say the damage is done in terms of our friendship. However,  my friends and family have been supporting me through this.

So thank you all too for your nice words. I have to stay upbeat if I plan to make it through this next semester with 14 units and then pretty much full time work hours once Spring Break starts. Love you all.

My uncle Luis’ service is on Friday. He’s going to be cremated in Texas, so our ceremony will be without him. My grandpa is taking it hard, Aunt Gloria says.  I guess he didn’t want him to be cremated, but those were his wishes.

She asked me to sing Ave Maria at the service. I agreed, but I just practiced it right now and I don’t know how I’ll get through the whole song and retain my composure. Even if I manage to concentrate on the music, I know some people are going to cry while I’m up there.

I’m sort of dreading it, but I’m also looking forward to that moment because I think it’s something I need to do.

My screening is tonight. Also, I hear Reeve Oliver is playing at Lestat’s at 9 so I’m going with the coworkers who come to my venue afterwards. I keep wanting to see Brad and Sean perform, but I keep missing their shows for one reason or another. They’re both Dolphin Show Hosts at Sea World so that’s how I know them.

It seems like everyone and their mother is in a band in San Diego.

I think tonight will be fun though once I allow myself to cheer up.

Funny how life goes on..

So the screening was great! I received plenty of praise, not only for my music video, but also for my cinematography work on Insecto. It was really motivating to hear that people like my work so much.

I saw some really great films tonight. My favorites were the animated projects from some Pt. Loma high school kids.

I just found out my uncle died. The one with cancer that I visited in Houston last May. I’m so sad, I don’t even know what to do with myself. I don’t work today so I sort of feel at a loss. Thankfully my friend Megan is coming over.
Here is a picture of one of my uncle’s art pieces.

The hard part for me is that when I visited him, he didn’t want to go. He still had so much vision he wanted to share with the world. Life is so cruel sometimes.

Hey, y’all. The screening at Brew and View was AWESOME. Kudos to Gavin and Ryan, the coordinators for putting together one of my favorite venues thus far. The audience really liked my music video and I snapped a photo as they were applauding. I’ll have some pics up soon of the fun event. I dressed up as a sexy little red riding hood. Many thanks to Rachel, Mofo, Nick, Ted, Mattzog and Chris for showing up and supporting me. It meant so much… *sniff*

I’m in L.A. right now working for Troma at the American Film Market in Santa Monica. I’m learning a few things about international distribution. Pretty cool. Took some fun photos with Toxie, Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD and of course Lloyd Kaufman as well as some other really cool peeps I’ve met thus far. I’ll post pics from that too when I get back to San Diego. I’m having a blast. Talk to y’all soon!
